What to Expect


When you hire me to DJ your event, I want to get to know a little about you. Do you really like Jazz? Do you really hate Hard Rock? Do you have a secret love for Tom Jones? Do you want to dance, or relax and catch up with friends and family? Does Uncle Mortimer expect to be able to dance a polka with Aunt Florence? Do you want to never, EVER hear another song by UB40?

The first thing we’ll do is arrange a time when we can sit down together and talk. I’ll ask you about your preferences and the people you expect at your event. We’ll discuss the flow of the evening and talk about how I can help the evening flow. This meeting usually takes an hour or two, and will likely leave you thinking about things you might have never considered when planning your event

I might even give you a little form to take home with you that you can fill out at your leisure. That form will ask you about songs you absolutely MUST hear at your event, and songs that you absolutely DO NOT want at your event. Everyone has a song that simply makes their skin crawl - and no one wants to hear it at their party!

As your event approaches I’ll do a site visit to familiarize myself with the layout of the room, and meet with the caterers and venue managers to understand how I fit into the schedule for the day, and that I’ll have everything I need (access to power, a table, etc.). On your big day you shouldn’t have to worry about behind-the-scenes details. Your event should be as stress-free and fun as it can be.
